Green Photography Packages
>> Monday, 2 March 2009
Photographers who say they are green or offer green photo packages mean first and foremost, that they only use digital photo processes. They shoot with digital cameras and they offer all photos to be proofed digitally. They only print what is requested. This means they are eliminating the use of regular film and the harmful chemicals that are used to develop it. They also cut out paper waste by giving you digital proofs. However there is more to being a green photographer than just all of the above.
LemonSplash Photography wedding photographers, based in Chichester and covering West Sussex have gone that extra mile to bring you a true green photographic package. We have sourced the finest gallery quality photographic paper from Hahnemuhle who have been making fine art papers since 1584. Their Bamboo paper is made from the worlds fastest growing plant, bamboo, which can grow as much as four feet in a day. We have also sourced handmade wedding albums that are not only made from bamboo or recycled products but also embrace fairtrade ethics as well. When it comes to printing we recycle all of our print cartridges wherever possible and always try to have them refilled rather than disposing of them. As technology improves we will move over to papers that have colour crystals embeded in them and so cutting out the need for colour print cartridges altogether. Our power sources come from rechargeable batteries for both our lights and cameras which cuts out the need to dispose of dead batteries that contain all sorts of harmful chemicals. Lastly wherever possible, we use public transport to meet with you, only using our own private transport on your wedding day to ensure we are wherever we are needed at whatever time you want us. We feel that all these processes put together add up to a true green photographic package.
